LIS 390W1A - Exercise: More CSS Practice

For this lab, create two different CSS layouts that are theme-based for a page in your personal website assignment. I suggest that one be Halloween themed, and that the second be one of the following: a different holiday; an emotion, such as angry, happy or sad; or some other kind of theme, such as pirates, space travel, romantic getaway, etc. Feel free to be creative in picking the theme, and have fun with this assignment! If you wish, you may pick a different webpage you have created.

Make sure you run the pages through the Functional Accessibility Evaluator and make them as accessible as possible. You should definitely be scoring over 50% in each of the main categories; scoring over 95% is better. The main one that will give you trouble is the Navigation & Orientation Section.

You may find using the sample HTML and CSS pages I created in class useful as reference for the box model. Remember, right click on the links in this paragraph and select "save target as..." or whatever the appropriate text is.

• CSS validation (link + successful validation): 2 points
• Scoring 95% or better with the Functional Accessibility Evaluator, or providing a reasonable explanation in your forum post as to why the score was less: 3 points
• CSS styling that creates an interesting-looking page: 9 points per page (18 points total)
