I wrote this a while ago, as a thank-you present to some of my really good friends. As you may have figured out from the rest of my website, I am an academic. The greatest present to an academic is honesty. So I composed these lyrics to be sung to the tune of Janis Joplin's song Mercedes Benz:
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
My other friends let me, get away with it.
Worked hard all my lifetime, not to be a twit,
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
My other friends let me, get away with it.
Worked hard all my lifetime, not to be a twit,
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I am a fool!
There are times I start to resemble a tool.
Don't need to be smart, don't need to be cool,
but I'm sure, glad you tell me, when I am a fool!
There are times I start to resemble a tool.
Don't need to be smart, don't need to be cool,
but I'm sure, glad you tell me, when I am a fool!
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I am a jerk!
I'm counting on you, friends, please don't stand and smirk.
You show that you care, and face down my irk,
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I am a jerk!
I'm counting on you, friends, please don't stand and smirk.
You show that you care, and face down my irk,
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I am a jerk!
Everybody!
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
My other friends let me, get away with it.
Worked hard all my lifetime, not to be a twit,
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
My other friends let me, get away with it.
Worked hard all my lifetime, not to be a twit,
I'm glad, that you tell me, when I'm full of shit!
